Nell graduated from Olympia High School in 1954. She received her BA from Northwest Christian College in 1958 and her MRE from Christian Theological Seminary, in Indianapolis, IN in 1963. Nell earned her Doctor of Ministry from Northwest Theological Union Seattle, in 1993.
Nell served as a fraternal worker in Germany from 1966-1979. She was a Regional Associate Minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Ministries. She also served as Associate Pastor at George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. from 1979-1982.
Nell enjoyed traveling – visiting many nations in Europe and Egypt. She served many churches as an interim pastor. She was passionate, enthusiastic and highly competent. She is survived by her brother, Don Carlson; Four Nieces, Two Nephews plus many great nieces and nephews. Nell has many family members who will miss her smile, kindness and delightful intelligent conversation. She loved children and animals especially her dog, Baxter.
Nell will be missed but never forgotten!
