

Ortrud Prostler was born December 19, 1940, in Worms, Am Rhein, West Germany to Friedrich Wilhelm Prostler
and Hildegard Martha Eleonore Hohmann. She was baptized Jan 3, 1941 in the same hospital that she was born in (name
Unknown).
Trudy grew up in her hometown of Worms, Germany. All through her years as a child and into her adult years, she was always a self-motivated, caring person, and excelled in everything she did.
In 1960, she met Eugene Fry, her future husband to be. He was an American Soldier stationed in her hometown. After their initial courtship, they were married in 1962. In August of the same year, Ortrud gave up her family and friends to embark on her journey to a foreign country that would change her life forever. Her children and grandchildren’s’ journey in life has just begun.
To show her support to her new country, she was nationalized as an American Citizen in 1971 in Savannah, Georgia. Ortrud was not interested in obtaining a college degree, her interests in life were being a wife, mother and grandmother and Great Grandmother. Although she did go to night school and obtained her American High School Diploma while living in California.
Trudy was a dedicated homemaker, and an inspirational cherished friend to many. She will be especially remembered to be a generous, faithful and loving lady that was willing to help others in need. She was also an avid gardener and took great pride in her flower gardens and rhododendrons.
She was a beautiful person, a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and Great Grandmother. She will be missed, remembered, loved, and cherished for the rest of our lives.
She is survived by her two daughters Brenda (Tom Barker) and Sylvia (Jon Fadhl), two grandchildren Noah (Patty Barker), and Kory Barker (Julie Morken), as well as her four Great grandchildren; Andrew, Lili, Adison, with the youngest being Spenser Thomas Barker.
A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held on December 19, 2016 at 1:00pm at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Tumwater, WA.
