Patricia Cynthia Bond

Patricia Cynthia Bond passed away on August 4, 2012 after a lengthy illness. “Tisha” was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and later moved to St. Clair Shores where she graduated from St. Gertrude High School. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with Elementary Teacher Certification and a secondary Undergraduate Degree in Religious Studies at the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. From there, she earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching in Reading and Language Arts at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Tisha was a devoted teacher who cared deeply for her students, their education, and their well-being. She taught elementary school at St. Lawrence Catholic School in Utica, Michigan, Guardian Angels Catholic School in Clawson, Michigan, St. Anne Catholic School in Houston, Texas, and several schools in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, including several schools for “at-risk” students.

Tisha also taught Catechism classes at various parishes in the Catholic Church. She volunteered and took leadership positions in numerous educational committees in the Clark County School District, including the D.A.R.E. program.

Tisha was an avid piano player and taught piano lessons and tutored children in reading and math after retiring from teaching in 2002. She was an author of children’s books, and she enjoyed spending time writing, drawing, trying new recipes, working puzzles, playing games, and spending time with her family.

Tisha is preceded in death by her father and mother, Norman and Babe Blake. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Richard Bond; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jenny Beasley; her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Jim Francis; and her nieces and nephew, Lori McCarthy, Mary Peters and Tim Francis.

Tisha was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and teacher, and she will be deeply missed.

Obituaries will appear in the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Thursday, August 9th and in the Detroit News on Sunday, August 12th.
