With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Pat Brown, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. While we are heartbroken to say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace.
Pat was born in Lynwood, California, to Richard and Fay Brown and grew up in California alongside his brothers, Rich and Mike. The stories he shared from those years reflected the love of his family and sense of humor that stayed with him throughout his life.
Pat served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a career in telecommunications that allowed him to travel throughout the United States. One of those work assignments brought him to Olympia, Washington, where he met Stephanie, the woman who would become his wife and partner in life. What began as a work trip became a permanent move and Washington became the place Pat proudly called home.
Pat and Stephanie shared 27 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on family, friendship, and laughter. He is survived by Stephanie; his son, Greg; step-daughters, Elizabeth and Katie; sons-in-law Jason and Ryan; and six grandchildren—Jenna, Carson, Aaron, Clare, Levi, and Alice Faye—who brought so much joy to his life.
Dementia changed many things over the years, but it never changed how deeply he was loved. We will hold close the memories of family gatherings, time at the boat, fishing trips, backyard barbecues, holiday celebrations, making us listen to his music and making him listen to ours, his pockets filled with peanut butter M&Ms, and the countless ordinary moments that now mean so much.
We are grateful for the years we had with him, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken, we know that a life well lived leaves a lasting legacy. Pat lives on in his children and grandchildren, in the friendships he nurtured, and in the memories, we will continue to share.
We will miss him every day, but we will carry him with us always.
