After serving in the Canadian Army and seeing the west coast he moved to Aberdeen. He married his wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Gillette) who preceded him in death in 2012. Together they raised 5 children. For most of his working years, Pat drove a lumber truck, sometimes allowing his kids a day to ride along.
After retirement, Pat and Phyllis enjoyed traveling both in the United States and beyond, seeing some of the great sites of the world. They enjoyed boating with friends and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Pat was well known for his furniture-building and woodworking skills and offered his talents to family, friends and the community. There was often stiff competition for the next place in line on the project wish list from his kids. He enjoyed hearing, "Hey, Dad, can you build me ... ". Without hesitation he would say "Yes," and take on the requested project.
Pat enjoyed volunteering at the Bread and Roses soup kitchen and working in the gardens both at his church and home. He did his best to teach his children the joy and solitude to be found in pulling weeds.
Pat was predeceased by his wife, parents and, siblings Joe, Walter, Frances, and Priscilla as well as daughter Patty and grandson Ronnie. He is survived by brothers Adolphus, John, Mike, and sister’s Marion and Audrey. His children, who will miss him greatly, are Lori Bray (Kim) of Boise, ID; Michael (Karen) of Graham; Therese (aka Pete) Levin (Jim) of Edmonds; and Maria (aka Sam) Blanton (Matt) of Mount Vernon. His grandchildren, Jennifer Peterson, Krysti Blanton, David Blanton, Kelsie Levin, Katie Levin, and Alex Levin and several great grandchildren will all miss him as well.
