

Philip Michael La Fond, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, of Lacey, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025. Born in Olympia, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Norma La Fond. He graduated from Saint Martin’s High School in 1967 and married Marion Kennedy.
Philip was an industrial journeyman electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for more than 30 years. He served on the IBEW Local 76 Apprenticeship Board and taught fourth year apprentices. He loved golf and warm weather, spending six months a year in Palm Springs, California, for more than a decade. A devoted family man, Philip was close to his parents and siblings, as well as his wife, daughters and grandchildren who lovingly called him “Grumpy.”
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marion, children, Lisa La Fond of Colorado (CO) and Tisha La Fond of Washington (WA); grandchildren, Gemma (Truesdell) Toogood of Tennessee, Jack Truesdell of CO, and Nella Caviezel of WA; sisters Nancy Sathrum of Oregon, Susan Corrigan of WA, and Mary Flury of Idaho; and brother John La Fond of WA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Larry, Daniel and David La Fond, and sisters Kay Heathers and Doreen Naccarato.
A memorial service for Philip will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Mills and Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Tumwater with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association .
