Philip Scott Sadlier

Philip Scott Sadlier passed away on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, at age 60, with his loving family at his side when he went home to heaven. Born in Pasadena, California, to Phil Sadlier and Arlene Sadlier (Southworth), he was known for his sly grin and mischievous sparkle in his eye as a young boy. After growing up with his younger brother Paul Sadlier by his side, he found himself at Chico State in 1989, where he met the love of his life, Barbara Sadlier (Richtik). After graduating and moving to Washington State with Barbara at his side, he began his career as a corrections deputy in Pierce County, promoting to Sergeant through his 27-years on the force.

He and Barbara were blessed to give birth to Charlotte in 1995, Megan in 1997, and Kayla in 1998, raising the girls in Olympia, WA and staying there for over 30 years. In his free time, Philip enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling, and discussing politics. A sociable man, Philip has been described as a lighthouse: sturdy, confident, reliable, and a guiding light to others. Everything felt a little more secure when Philip was around.

Philip was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Richtik; his grandparents, Arleigh and Mabel Southworth; and John and Eleanor Sadlier; and various aunts and uncles who loved Philip dearly. Philip is survived by both his parents, Phil and Arlene Sadlier of Medford, OR.; his younger brother, Paul Sadlier of Chico, CA.; his mother-in-law, Nancy Richtik (Salmi) of Richmond, CA.; his beloved wife of 33 years, Barbara Sadlier of Olympia, WA.; his three daughters, Charlotte Sadlier (Broderick Schwarz) of Olympia, WA., Megan Sadlier of Bellingham, WA., and Kayla Sadlier of Bellingham, WA.; cousins Laura and Paul Fiacco of Bend, OR.; and many, many others, including cousins, uncles, aunts, colleagues, and friends -

so many people who loved Philip.
