Rebecca L. Nickerson Was born Oct. 6, 1925 in Thorndike, ME. She passed away Oct. 31, 2011 at age 86 in her home in Olympia, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. (ret.) Laurence M. Nickerson. She is survived by daughters, Marjorie McElroy, Connie Nickerson, Jackie and Tim Hegedus, and Judy and Gene McDermott, grandchildren Caroline and Jeff Grimm, Brent Hegedus, Melinda and Shane Cooke, and Jennifer and Matt Dockter; 7 great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Janae Grimm, Makensie and Taylor Dockter, Alyssa Powers, Chase Cooke, and Maya Hegedus. Becky loved to garden, play golf, snow ski, travel, and participate in family activities. We will remember her for her humor, ready smile and love of life. The funeral service is scheduled for 2pm Friday, Nov. 4th, 2011 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, Tumwater, WA, and her final resting place will be at Willamette National Cemetery with her beloved husband Larry. Becky will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched, especially her family. We as a family wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers.
