Richard died of natural causes on Monday May 17, 2021, in his sleep at ManorCare Health Services in Lacey, Washington.
Father, Paul Berg and mother, Ellen Martinson Berg.
Richard has four siblings, Margret (deceased), Evelyn (deceased), Marilyn, and Rodney.
Richard attended Lincoln High school in Tacoma, Washington.
Marriages; Elizabeth Mae McConnell (Berg) and Kristi Darlene Gronvold (Berg).
Children; Paul Lawrence, Peter Amos, Phillip Tracy, and Wytana Conner.
He has 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
At a young age he chose to help support his family when his father passed at an early age. He had a paper route at first, he then started his career in the automotive / truck and parts business at the local Texaco service station in town. He went on to join the military in 1950 serving in the Army and a tour of Korea. He had various jobs before he found his long-time employment as Head Purchasing Agent at M.A. Segale Inc. in Tukwila, Washington, where he retired from.
His hobbies included, woodworking, putting together puzzles, gardening (taking care of 2 2/3 acres) and canning fruits and vegetables.
The funeral/internment service will be at Mt Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent Washington on June 21, 2021. Due to the restrictions of covid, this will be a family only service.
