Mr. Misunderstood. Our wild card. A young man that lived life to the fullest everyday. Side quest king. Life of the party. The best dancer out there. The shoulder to lean on. The friend you could count on to show up. The first to volunteer and help. A boy that had a smile that lit up the darkest of rooms. The class clown. Honestly, It was his world and we were all living in it.
River was a bright young man that strived under the hood of his trucks, and smelt of diesel and oil at all times. You probably saw him in a stained hoodie and jeans that probably had a belt held together by duct tape. He was a humble child that was as free as the coastal wind blowing through the evergreens. He was a breath of fresh air.
“Koi” was always one phone call away. One “I need you” text message and he already had keys in the ignition. We knew him to be an outgoing child that chased the adrenaline. Not once was he ever scared of anything new and kept his head held high. A brave, kind, outgoing soul.
For every sunrise, sunset, and for every star we see, we see you. Paint the skies pretty and hold down the fort while you wait for us. The clouds are your etch it sketch. Play fetch with Whisky, Honey Bee and Diamond. Relax and drink a Coors while you out fish Grandpa Ball and fill him in on the projects you got to work on. Maybe watch some WWE with Grandpa Carney while eating all of his popcorn. Just relax, your dreams and ambition will live on through us all baby boy.
We hope heaven is warm.
We hope it feels like a never ending hug from our parents.
We hope it is as joyful as playing and interacting with our siblings.
We hope it is never ending laughter like from playing games with our aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We hope you still feel all the love nana and papa ever had for you.
We will unfortunately remember you longer than we have known you, but don’t worry. We will never let anyone forget your name.
Long Live River Koi Carney
