Ruth Mary Martinez

Ruth Mary was born on November 21, 1936, in Santurce, Puerto Rico to the late Ramon Perez and Rosalia Soto.

The family moved to New York City in 1948.

Ruth Mary married Juan Martinez Cortez on July 22, 1967. They were married for 58 years.

On October 17, 1984, the family arrived in Washington State from Germany where in 1994, Juan retired from the US Army.

Ruth traveled worldwide as a military wife and homemaker.

Ruth was a great storyteller who loved retelling family memories throughout the years!

Ruth enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends. Heaven is in for a fun time!

Ruth enjoyed cooking large quantities of Puerto Rican food for family and friends during family and holiday get togethers.

Ruth loved to entertain at her impeccably kept and tastefully appointed home where food, music and laughter were always present.

Ruth enjoyed RV camping and socializing with close friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Juan; their six children, Joseph, James, Ruth Esther, Juan Jr., Jorge and Javier; their spouses; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
