As a devoted woman of faith, there is no doubt she was rejoicing as she entered into the presence of Jesus. She is restored and at peace - celebrating with joy as she is reunited with "the only man for her," her husband Don Marquis III, her grandson Cameron Ryan, her parents Ben Sr. and Santa Hernandez, her sisters Edna and Lily and her brother Ben Jr.
Teena will forever be loved and honored by her 5 children and their spouses: Don Marquis IV (Teresa), Christina Bowling (Vanon II), Lisa Ryan (Eric), Joseph Marquis (KariAnn) and David Marquis (Jonelle), and her grandchildren: Samantha, Vanon III, Joe (Brittany), Antonia (Caleb), Kayden, Dominic, Ashden and Annabelle, as well as her great grandchildren: Kellen, Kace, and Eloise.
Teena was born in Puerto Rico; grew up and got married in southern California; raised her family in Rainier, Washington, where she is fondly remembered for greeting and serving the townspeople at The Marquis Company, the family's business famous for it's 22-foot cowgirl; lived in Wells, Nevada; and settled in Lacey, Washington.
Teena was a gentle, warm light in this world who spread goodness by giving true unconditional love. She was a nurturer by nature, and she poured kindness and praise into others. While her later years brought challenges, she faced them with strength and faith until the end. Teena will be remembered for her beautiful, radiant smile and her penchant for silly jokes, even ones she'd heard hundreds of times.
A memorial service will be held on her birthday, Saturday June 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Christian Community, 1000 Black Lake Blvd SW Olympia, WA.
If you wish, please join us in wearing a little of Teena's favorite color red as we celebrate her life.
A light reception catered by Olive Garden (another of Teena's favorites) will follow immediately after the service.
