Sharon Kay Megiveron

Sharon was born in Miller South Dakota in 1947 to Willard & Anna Stender. The family later moved from South Dakota to Washington State, where the family settled.

She attended public schools in the Olympia School District, and Graduated from Olympia High School in 1965. It was during this time that she met the love of her life and best friend, Russell Megiveron in 1963. They were married in 1965, after Sharon graduated high school. They were HAPPILY MARRIED for 59 years.

Sharon was employed by the State of Washington Retirement Systems for many years. There are many memories of VISITING Aunt Sherry at work and meeting all her friends she worked with.

In 1969 Sherry & Russ were BLESSED with their daughter, Tammy Annette. Sharon dedicated her life to being Tammy’s Mom & Best Friend.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Russell, and daughter Tammy, of the family home. Sister Judy (Don) Mattingly; Brother Bill (Dinah) Stender; Brother Tim (Sally Reigel) Stender; Sister-in-Law, Gwynne (Joe) Fleming; Sister-in-Law, Diane (Virgil) Halstead; Sister-in-Law, Chris (Don Davidson) Megiveron; and Sister-in-Law, Leslie Stender; along with many cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts & Uncles & numerous Friends.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Willard & Anna Stender; and many family & friends that passed before her.

Sharon LOVED her family and was the glue that held her family together. When you knocked on her door, YOU WERE ALWAYS WELCOME!!! Sharon had many passions but was known as AN AMAZING COOK!!! She loved cooking for everyone and truly enjoyed Potlucks so she could cook for her family.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m., at the

Olympia Church of Christ, 3132 Boulevard Rd SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
