

Stella was born in Tribbey, Oklahoma and was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Furman and Georgie Baxter Furman; husband V. Ray Foster (former pastor of Sonrise Church in Olympia, Washington); daughter Betty Lou (in infancy); son Lloyd Gene Foster; sister Mary Furman Reed; brother Jack Furman, and grandson Robert Ray Foster.
She is survived by son Nelson Ray Foster (wife Linda) of Franklin, Tennessee; sister Dorthey Furman Spurek (husband Joe) of Sparks, Nevada; brother Oliver Furman (wife Billy, deceased) of Ephrata, Washington; daughter-in-law Barbara Foster Bahr (husband Al) of Union, Washington; grandchildren Rick Foster, Michael Foster (wife Kelly), Stacey Foster (wife of Robert Ray Foster and son Nicholas Alcorn); great-grandchildren Landon Foster, Ava Marie Foster, Ellianna Foster, and nieces and nephews.
Her husband was a dedicated pastor and over the years they were affectionately known as “Preach Baby” and “Teach Baby.”
Stella was an active member of Sonrise Church in Olympia, Washington and a volunteer for the Senior Companion Group and was dedicated to her Christian faith, family and teaching career.
Stella graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in teaching and taught school until she retired.
During World War II she was a “Rosie the Riveter” building Liberty Ships for the war effort.
Stella will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church members.
*There will be no funeral service; interment will be at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sonrise Church, Olympia, Washington, Gideon Bibles or the food bank.
