

He was born to David and Mary Skramstad on July 14. 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating high school, he went on to earn a B.F.A Large Mural Design, and a B.S. Art, from Evergreen State University in 1976. He sold his first watercolor painting when he was just 13 years old. He used his art skills throughout his life and career by working in marketing and communication departments, such as Sunset Life Insurance, Pollard Group, and most recently Pacific Lutheran University where he worked for 20 years.
He was married to Sherri Lynne Skramstad, the love of his life, on November 14, 1981, in The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, Seattle Temple who survives him. They were married for 41 years. Steve was also survived by his daughters, Mary Jo Williams, Staci Lynne Skramstad, and Kelli Michelle Thompson, as well as his brother Brad Skramstad, his two sons-in-laws, John Williams, and Ryan Thompson, and his 6 grandkids. Steve was predeceased by his parents David and Mary Skramstad, his brother Jonathan David Skramstad and his son Jonathan David Skramstad.
Steve will be remembered as a compassionate, loving, giving, and selfless father, grandfather, husband and friend. He showered people with love, smilies, and a whit that would keep them on their toes. he was deeply loved and will be terribly missed by his family and all those who were blessed enough to know him.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11am on Monday May 22, 2023. There will be a viewing from 10:00-10:30 am. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1602 Ruddell Rd SE Lacey, WA 98503.
