Terry was born in Seattle, Washington on February 17, 1948. He graduated from Shorecrest High School and earned a degree in education from Washington State University. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bree and Shad Gardner, his five beloved grandchildren, Carson (13), Drew (11), Kaelyn (9), Blake (7) and Levi (7), and his sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Roger Hunter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy, wife, Gayle, mother, Dorothy, and father, Bernard. Terry’s favorite memories were the times he spent with his family and friends. He had many hobbies over his lifetime, but after his retirement, he enjoyed listening to music, working in his yard, and cheering on the Yankees and WSU Cougars. At a young age, he and his father developed a love of hydroplane race boats. Attending the Seattle Seafair races was an annual tradition for Terry. Many great memories were made with his family on the shores of Lake Washington. Memorials may be sent in the form of a donation in Terry’s name to the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum at 5917 South 196th Street, Kent, Washington 98032. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren that will always remember him as the “best Papa ever”.
