He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his former wife Elaine Tobin, his children, Joe Tobin (wife Mona and children Luke and Abbey), Daniel Tobin (wife Shashika), and Meghan Mulder (husband Tysen and daughter Finley); his seven brothers and sisters; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tim idolized his grandchildren, all of whom will miss their "Pop." He documented their every accomplishment and shared their progress with everyone within arm's reach.
Born in Seattle and raised on Mercer Island, Tim married his high school sweetheart, Elaine, in June of 1979, and together they raised three children. Tim loved to meet people and hear their stories, as his many friends will attest. He delighted in learning phrases in dozens of foreign languages so he could initiate conversations with those he encountered. No stranger he met remained a stranger for long.
Tim was always quick to lend a helping hand, offering his time and support to anyone in need. He was known for his sharp wit, love of wordplay, and a talent for crafting clever puns that brought laughter to all who knew him.
Some of his happiest days were spent fishing, whether with family during the annual spring trip to Fish Lake in the Okanagan region or near his property in Nikiski, Alaska.
He will be missed by his loving family and friends more than words can express.
A funeral mass and celebration of life for Tim will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Lacey, WA on June 13, 2025 at 11:00am. All are welcome.
Should you wish to leave a remembrance in Tim's honor, his family suggests Breakthrough T1D or St. Jude Children’s Hospital”
