OBITUARY
Virginia Lee Hora
Passed away on January 4, 2021
Virginia Hora (80) passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born at home in Oklahoma to Claude and Rachel. She was the oldest of six children. Her family moved to Washington State in 1943.
Virginia eloped and married the love of her life, Victor, and together they spent over 60 years together. After living a short time in Tacoma, Virginia and Victor moved their family to Lacey. After retiring, they spent 10 years in Lake Havasu, Arizona, first as snow birds, then full time, prior to returning to Lacey.
Virginia lived a full life and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked and retired from the State of Washington, working for several agencies over the years. Virginia had a special place in her heart for babies and was a grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning, doing ceramics, playing games and cards with family and friends, spending time at their cabin at Maggie Lake, cooking, especially family favorites of potato dumplings, sweet and sour cabbage, pork roast and family traditions of sausage buns and kolaches.
Virginia loved to travel with Victor both in the United States and around the world. She also had a love for fishing of all kinds, whether deep sea for salmon and halibut or lake for trout. You could always find her with a smile on her face. Lastly, she enjoyed going out on the Department of Natural Resources forest fires, where she was a time keeper of equipment.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Rachel, two brothers, James and Leonard, grandson Aaron, and favorite dog Princess.
Virginia is survived by her husband Victor, son Marlin (Debie), daughters Claudia Eveland, Shellie Carpenter (Russ), Terri Stabnow (Rick), 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters Lois Cefalu, Irene Delahunt (Ray), and Evelyn Heyd (Ron).

Mom, I miss you so much. My mom was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Mom always had a smile and hug for everyone. She didn't let her disease take her love for family or life. I'm so thankful for all the time I had with her. Until we meet again, keep smiling. Love you always.

Many fond memories with Virginia and the Hora family. Summers at Maggie Lake,
spending time at each other’s homes for get togethers with the Hora- Cloquet-Iselin families. Camping, cards, time at the Iselin farm roasting marshmallows and running in the fields. Lots of love, Elizabeth Iselin-Straub
