Virginia Catherine Monroe

A former 40 year resident of Tumwater, Virginia was born May 5, 1930 in Franklin County, IN to Michael and Mary (Becker) Fohl. She married Eugene H. Monroe on October 27, 1951. Gene passed away in 2008 after 57 years of marriage.

Virginia was a homemaker and volunteered her time at several places in Tumwater and 25 years at the Olympia Timberland Library. She enjoyed needlework, puzzles, growing flowers, travel and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by six children: Herb, Mike, Dave, Ray, Rose and Guy; two daughters-in-law: Karen and Pam; five grandchildren: Amber, Tasha, Ocean, Harlie and Merlin; one sister, Carolyn Pratt and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A vigil service will be held on Sunday, July 12th at 7:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Centralia. A funeral service will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, on Monday, July 13th at 10:00 am with a viewing at 9:00 am. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church Endowment at Franklin County Community Foundation, Disabled American Veterans or Boys Town.
