Walter Whyte

Walt was born in Seattle on June 25, 1947 and passed away peacefully March 19, 2011 at ST Peters Hospital. Walt moved to Olympia when he was 11 years old and graduated from Olympia High School in 1965. Walt immediately started construction and had a great passion and talent as a heavy equipment operator and quickly moved up to the foreman position. The majority of his career was with O & K trucking and Tom Martin Const. After retiring he enjoyed working in his shop and restoring his Jeep and Oldsmobile that he purchased with his wife in new in 1969. Walt also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and especially his grandchildren. Walt was preceded in death by his wife Vickie, mother Lila, and two brothers Jerry and Chuck. He is survived by his 2 children Kevin and Christel, 3 grandchildren Emilee, Jacob, and Bella 4 siblings Gilbert, Margot, Gordy, and Louise, many nieces and nephews and his dog and companion Buddy. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 1:00 pm, at Mills & Mills, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater WA 98512. A reception will be held following the service.
