

Warren was born in Madison, Nebraska. His family moved to Washington, when he was ten years old, settling at a dairy farm on Fir Island in Skagit County, near Mt Vernon, WA. He was a graduate of Mt Vernon High School and Skagit Valley Community College. He earned Bachelor of Divinity from Multnomah School of the Bible, attended two years of Western Conservatory Seminary, and later earned Master of Business from City University. Warren served two years in the Army. He was as pastor at a small church in Astoria, OR. Warren returned to farming and had increasing sized dairies in Mt Vernon and Chehalis, WA. After farming he held various jobs and lived in Tumwater, WA. Throughout his life he was a dedicated Christian and avid athlete: baseball, basketball, boxing, and running. He was a tireless worker and very tough competitor. Warren was married to Florence Jean Lambert for 36 years and Mary Jane Sheaffer for 24 years.
Survivors include children Jeff (Kristie) Frey, Jennifer (John Rodsett) Frey and their mother Jean Frey, Carolyn (George) Wells, Rick (Annalise) Nye, Scott (Laura) Nye, grandchildren Melanie (Griffin) Plenert and Rhyse (Hayley) Frey, sister Jane Fleshman and sister-in-law Kay Frey. Warren was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Alice, wife Mary Jane, brother Jim and brother-in-law Kirk Fleshman.
Warren’s family would like to thank the staff at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, WA for the compassionate care they gave Warren in the last six years and suggest any commemorative donations should go to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. A memorial gathering will be held at Heather Village Community Center, 925 Heather Circle, Mt Vernon, WA 98273, on Saturday, 5/18/24, 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
