In October 1957, he married the love of his life, Mildred Irene Sorensen. They had 2 children Karen (Craig) and Lynn (Maggie) and moved to Lacey, WA in 1962 when Fisheries moved to Olympia from Seattle. They added another son to the family when Lynn brought Eric home from high school.
After retirement, he began a volunteer career with the Lacey Fire Department. Dale was a devoted husband and family man. We had many camping trips in the old blue station wagon and later in motor home “Millie”. He was also a fisherman and a gardener. Our parents had 4 grandchildren, Keleen, Alisa, Alexander and Cheyanne and 8 greatgrandchildren. They loved each one of them with their whole hearts.
