Gosh, only discovered this minutes ago. 

Wayne and I met when we worked together at Pickwick Bookshops in Hollywood. He was a great friend, wonderful singing partner and intellect.

I met Wayne in L.A. in 1963 and we became fast friends for 50 years.  he helped me with my high notes when I was studying singing.  We went to many concerts and operas together, and he came here to Phoenix a couple of times.  I visited him in Olympia once.  I was recovering from broken hip surgery when Wayne passed in Sept.  It was my 4th stroke.  I tried to call his sister, judy, but the number I have they said was no longer working.  My prayers go out to her.  

Wayne was one of the kindest and fun people I ever had the privilege knowing.  He was my voice teacher at Pacific Lutheran University in the early 80's, but he was not only my teacher, but we would socialize away from the campus, often making fun trips up to Seattle to go out to eat.  I was also part of a small group that he put together to perform at local venues.   When my Mom passed away in 1990, Wayne sang at her service, and his wife Dorothy accompanied him on the piano, as she had so many times before at various venues.  That is a memory that I will treasure as long as I live.  After he had his stroke, I came to visit him at the care center where he was living.  It was bittersweet.  I am so happy to have had him be a part of my life and for the memories of the time that I had with him both on and off of the Pacific Lutheran University Campus.
