Wayne was born on April 22, 1934, to Clarence and Verna Robbins of Olympia. He is survived by his wife Marie Robbins of 62 years, his siblings; Katherine Patterson (Shelton, WA), Keith Robbins (Las Vegas, NV), and Gary Robbins (Oak Harbor, WA) and his children; Rick and Pam Robbins (Tenino, WA), Dianna and Aubrey Graham (Santa Fe, TX), Jerry Robbins (Olympia, WA), and Roxanne Bogart (Olympia, WA) as well as his 8 beloved grandchildren, and 9 ½ great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn Walsh (Tucson, AZ), and his twin brother Duane Robbins (University Place, WA).
Wayne attended South Bay Elementary, Washington Junior High, graduated from Olympia High School in 1953 and also Centralia Community College. Wayne and his twin brother, Duane, enlisted into the United States Airforce in 1953 as Morris Code Operators on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. He worked at Boeing, and then started his career in the federal prison system as a correctional officer/counselor on McNeil Island, Wisconsin, Texas and retired in Tucson, AZ after 20 years. He later worked at Custom Security, and then became a security guard for Providence St. Peter’s Hospital.
He had a passion for nature and animals, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 a.m., December 17, 2018, at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. A reception will be held at Mountain View Church of the Nazarene in Tumwater shortly after the graveside service.
