William John Reed Jr.

William Reed Jr of Tenino, more commonly known as Skip, passed away at his home with loved ones nearby on September 6, 2026. Skip was born on October 17, 1938 in Olympia, Washington to parents William Reed (Sr.), and Nettie Clinton. Skip was one of six children in the family.

Upon completing school, Skip enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier in locations including San Diego, Japan, and Loas. After the Navy, Skip had a long career in railroads that included working as a train engineer.

Skip met and was married to Beverly Reed, and together they had three children: William (Bill), Christy, and Michael. When not working, Skip’s passions included hunting and fishing, and being the best husband and father he could be to his family.

Skip is preceded in death by his Parents: Annette (Nettie) Spencer and William John Reed (Sr.); Siblings: Betty Reeves, Margie Thomas, Patsy Hale, Ray Spencer; and son William (Bill) Reed.

He is survived by his wife Beverly J Reed; children Christy (Scott) Cassar, and Michael (Beckie) Reed; and grandchildren Ashley Elliott, Carl Elliott, Bailey Reed, and Mike Burkett.
