Yvonne Emma Larsen

Yvonne was born May 20, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, lovingly raised by parents Emma and Ed Clough. Though given the name Yvonne, she was Bonnie to nearly everyone who knew her. To her grandchildren, she was simply Grams.

Bonnie and Wayne Hodson were married May 29, 1953. This union blessed them with three children: Eugene, Pamela and Terrie. Wayne and Bonnie loved to go bowling, water skiing and dancing. Bonnie worked at Boeing in her younger years and became a bartender in later years. Later still, she and her son Eugene ran a construction company together.

Bonnie married Carl Larsen on December 31, 1975. They traveled many places in their trailer and loved campfires, fishing and razor clam digging. For years, she operated a full ceramics shop from her home, complete with molds and a kiln, and hosted ceramics classes where she shared her knowledge with family and others.

Her creativity extended far beyond ceramics. She loved to sew, make quilts and craft handmade greeting cards. She volunteered for Christmas in the Forest designing tabletop mini Christmas trees with handmade ornaments. Glitter was her favorite media. Teaching her creative skills to others came naturally.

Independent and feisty, she loved going to the casino and playing Bingo and penny ante poker with her friends at The Reserve in Lacey. Bonnie especially enjoyed her favorite Chinese lunch and would never pass up a garden fresh tomato sandwich.

Of all the things Bonnie accomplished throughout 92 years, family was her greatest legacy. Her warmth and humor will be missed but will remain forever in our hearts.

Bonne’s spirit lives on through her surviving family, including daughters Pamela Tilson (Dennis), Terrie Null (Chris); Grandchildren Tyson Null (Stacie), Alysha Myers, Rachelle Alongi (Brett) and Tiffany Carpenter (Kris); Great-grandchildren Lucas, Grace, Jake, Hailey, Lilly and Kaiden. She is also survived by her siblings Ed Clough (Mollie), Karen Painter (Greg) and Judy Clough.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Eugene, and both parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie’s honor to St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to everyone who provided care in Bonnie's final days.

At the request of Bonnie, a private family service will be held at a later date.

She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.
