Adeline Avila Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted woman of faith, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, she was 96 years old.
Born in Canoga Park, California, to Juanita and Filipe Avila, Adeline married Elmer G. Johnson, in Tracy, California who preceded her in death June 13, 1988. She lived a life filled with love, faith, and family. She was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and an active member of Teams of Our Lady. Adeline's unwavering faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
Above all, Adeline cherished her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support.
Adeline is survived by her three sons Larry Johnson, Ralph Johnson (Rosemary) and Stephen Johnson; along with her daughter-in-law Isabel Cabral-Johnson; She is also survived by her grandchildren; Michael Sousa-Johnson (Ashley), Daniel Johnson (Cassidy), Victoria Vasquez (Zachary), Andrea Ramirez (Ozzy), Damian Sousa (Rebekah) and Julia Sharp (Tyler); and eleven cherished great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Elmer G. Johnson; her parents, Filipe and Juanita Avila; her brothers Tom Avila and Alfred Avila; and her sisters Nellie Ovalle, Lydia Flores, and Dalia Lara preceded her in death.
A visitation for Adeline will be held on Thursday, February 6,2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380. A recitation of the rosary and funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S Walnut Rd, Turlock, CA 95380. A committal service will follow at Tracy Public Cemetery District, 501 W Schulte Rd, Tracy, CA 95376.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Adeline's name to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Sousa-Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Damian Sousa, Ozzy Ramirez, Tyler Sharp, Zachary Vasquez, and Damon Johnson.
