Andrew “Andy” James Pappas was born on January 1, 1960, in Alameda, California, to Karen and George Pappas. He was the youngest of three boys. He grew up alongside his two brothers, Mike and Rick, and spent much of his youth and teenage years at his parents home in Crappy Cove on Tulloch Lake. He spent his time on the lake, riding motorcycles, and enjoying the freedom and many adventures there.
Andy graduated from Sonora High School in 1978. He went on to build a career as a glass glazier, a trade he was naturally gifted at and dedicated more than 30 years of his life to. He worked alongside his dad in their family business, Big Valley Glass, before continuing his career with other companies in the glass industry.
In his twenties, Andy became a father when his daughter Heather was born. A couple of years later, his daughter Tara was born, followed by his son, Tyler. His family would continue to grow throughout his life, when he became a father to his wife’s children, Felicia and Rickie, whom he considered his own.
For twenty-six happy years, right by his loving side, His devoted wife, Maureen Costa, shared in this earthly ride.
A hard and dedicated worker, Andy gave his very best. He absolutely loved the thrill of going to estate sales, hunting down the hidden treasures, for him, the real excitement wasn’t just the prize he’d buy, It was the passion of the search that brought a sparkle to his eye. He loved the game of buying and selling cars, panning for gold and gambling.
Andy had a great sense of humor and a special ability to put people at ease. He was kindhearted, easygoing, and had a way of making those around him feel comfortable simply by being himself. His humor and laid-back personality were a memorable part of who he was, and those who knew him will remember the warmth and ease he brought into their lives.
Andrew leaves behind his beloved wife Maureen Costa Pappas, his children Heather Chung, Tara Smith, Tyler Pappas, Rickie Costa and Felicia Martini, his son-in--laws Tim Martini, Brian Chung and Devon Smith, his grandchildren Ryon, Colton, Trevor, Addison, Carson, Taylor, James, Alison, Jaxon, Madison, Makyla, Makynlie, Mercedes, Ices, Ayane, Elijah and Ricky Jr, his great grandchildren Abel, Jewel, Annie, Charelette and Evelynn, and his brother Michael Pappas.
