Antonio Estevão Vieira

September 11, 1945 – October 31, 2015

Mr. Antonio Estevao Vieira entered into rest on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 70 years of age. Antonio was born in Santo Antão, Topo, São Jorge, Azores on September 11, 1945. On October 4, 1973, Antonio married Rita Maciel and they began a new life together in the United States on November 1973. They settled into Hilmar in 1981 where they continued to raise their family and retire. Antonio worked in the dairy industry for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending Portuguese festas and bullfights. He also enjoyed working in his beautiful and abundant fruit and vegetable garden and raising cattle on his ranchette. Antonio was a humble man who was proud of his Portuguese heritage and his Catholic faith. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar and a club member of Our Lady of Miracles Gustine and Clube Portuguese Da Irmanadade de Divino Espirito Santo Hilmar. Antonio is survived by his Wife- Rita Custodia Vieira of Hilmar, Daughter- Anna Paula Matos and her husband John Matos of Turlock, Son-Carlos Antonio Vieira and his wife Josie Vieira of Atwater. Six grandchildren- Brandon, Nicole, Zackary, Shane, Mike and Steve. Brother- Manuel Custodio Vieira of Oakdale. Four Sisters – Maria Adelaide Brasil of San Jose, Rosa Goncalves of Terceira, Azores, Matilde Vieira Silva of São Jorge, Azores , Nazare Brasil of São Jorge, Azores . He is also survived by several Brother/Sister In Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren, Cousins and Friends. He is dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Antonio is preceded in death by his Parents- Estevao and Maria Adelaide Vieira, 2 Brothers- Venancio Vieira and Jose Vieira. Sister – Maria Filomena Vieira. Services: Visitation-1:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, California. Rosary - 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2015 and Funeral Mass - 10:00 AM, Friday, November 6, 2015, both at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20323 American Ave in Hilmar, California.
