Arnold is survived by his wife, Judy K. Mitchell; son Arnold R. L. Mitchell; daughter-in-law Janice Mitchell; son Phillip W. Mitchell; daughter Michele R. Szabo; son-in-law Endre Szabo; son Rolland E. Mitchell; son Stephen S. Mitchell; and daughter-in-law Cindy Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell is also survived by Twenty-Two Grandchildren, Twenty-Nine Great-grandchildren, Two Step-Children Rodney Husmann and Steve Husmann as well as Four Step-Grandchildren and One Step Great-grandchild.
Arnold was a fun loving, friendly and sociable person. The phrase coined many times, “he never met a stranger”, was so true of him. One of his favorite greetings was when he was told to have a good day, he’d say, “you have a better day”. He had a real love for others, particularly his children and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to be present at family events. He knew the importance of showing support and love whenever he could. He was always a generous man providing for those in need. He worked hard and eventually ran his own company where his boys worked along side of him. He loved to travel with his wife, Judy. They had many adventures together. Even though the Lord saw fit to call Arnold home, he will be sorely missed.
A visitation will occur Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California 95380. A Celebration of Life will be held directly following the visitation for Arnold at 6:00pm at Kevin and Lauren’s home 1800 Ashley Court, Turlock, California 95382. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Live Oak Memorial Park: 200 E. Duarte Road, Monrovia, California 91016. Memorial Services to be held at 11:30 AM at Central Baptist Church: 395 San Bernardino Avenue, Pomona, CA 91767
