Barbara Joyce McClain

Barbara was born in Tulare, CA to Virginia and Ray Taylor and has passed at the age of 76 in Turlock; CA. Barbara’s early life was spent living on the farm in Merced until she married her husband Bill in 1956. Bill served in the military, so Barbara spent many years moving from place to place. They finally came back to Merced where they raised their four children. Nine years ago, Barbara and husband moved to the Turlock / Hilmar area near their daughter where she once again lived on the farm. She loved outdoors and being with her family and friends. She loved going deer hunting and being by the ocean. Barbara also loved going to her doctor’s appointments where she would always joke with the doctors and tell her daughter they are so handsome. She loved looking at pictures that her nieces and nephews would post on social media of their children and family events. Barbara loved talking on the phone with her friends and family. Everyone that met her always commented that she was so kind and very much loved her family. Barbara was not just a mom to her four children; she was a mom to all of her children’s friends. They would talk to and share things with her. Barbara has now joined the love of her life, her husband Bill, after 4 ½ long, lonely years they are now together again. Barbara is also preceded in death by her son Ricky and her parents. She is survived by her sons Arnold and Teddy McClain of Merced, her daughter tammy (Carlos) Meirinho of Turlock, grandchildren Rodney McClain of Winton, CA, Amber McClain of Chowchilla, CA and Adam Meirinho of Turlock, CA., three great-grandchildren, her brother CLiffor5d (Judy) Taylor of Winton, CA and sister Alice Ogren of Spokane, WA. Services for Barbara will be held AS follows: Visitation will be at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service on Thursday, October 2nd 2014 between the hours of 3:00PM and 6:00pm, Her Graveside service will be held at San Joaquin National Cemetery on Friday October 3rd 2014 at 10:00AM.
