Beatriz was a vibrant, spirited woman whose presence lit up every room she entered. Born in McAllen, Texas, on June 25, 1950, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and deep community involvement. A proud and devoted matriarch, Beatriz found her greatest joy in her family and took immense pride in their accomplishments and closeness.
A true social butterfly, Beatriz was well-known for her warmth, humor, and generous heart. She was always the first to strike up a conversation, offer a helping hand, or organize a gathering. Her love for bingo nights and trips to the casino brought her much happiness and connection with friends.
Beatriz was a faithful and active member of Echoes of Praise Pentecostal Church in Ceres, where she worshiped and served with joy. She also gave her time and energy to the Senior Citizen Center in Patterson, where she formed lifelong friendships and continued to uplift those around her with her infectious spirit.
Her legacy of kindness, strength, and community service will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share in the joy of her life.
Beatriz is survived by her loving children: Rosa Delfa Garcia (Martin) of Colusa, Rosendo Zaragoza of Chowchilla, Josefina Jovita Luquin (Sergio Antonio) of Turlock, and Jessica Lina Hernandez of Newman. She is also survived by her cherished siblings: Reyes Hernandez (Janie) of Modesto, Gerardo Barrera (Ismelda) of Patterson, and Olga Romo of Modesto.
She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.
Beatriz was preceded in death by her beloved parents Pablo Barrera and Delfa Villareal, and by her dear siblings, Mariselda “Mache” Morelos Barrera and Bernarda "Berna" Barrera.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Echoes of Praise Pentecostal Church 2929 4th Street, Ceres, California 95307 at 10:30 AM.
Beatriz will be laid to rest in Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
