Cathy Lee Ann Azevedo

Cathy Lee Ann Azevedo passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on June 23, 2026, at the age of 51 in Modesto, California. She was born on July 22, 1974, in Turlock, California, to Gilbert and Juanita Leonardo and was a longtime resident of Stevinson, California.

Cathy shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Ramiro Azevedo. Childhood friends who grew up together, they eventually fell in love and became not only husband and wife but also the very best of friends. They enjoyed life side by side and did everything together, sharing a bond built on love, trust, laughter, and unwavering support.

After their marriage in 2000, Cathy worked alongside Ramiro in the family butchering business. She was often considered the brains behind the operation, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to helping build and grow the business into a success. Through her hard work, determination, and keen mind, she played an instrumental role in its accomplishments.

Cathy was known for her warm personality, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. Affectionately known as “Chatty Cathy,” she could strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved spending time fishing and camping, cooking meals for those she loved, reading books, working crossword puzzles, and, more recently, playing games on her phone to keep her mind sharp.

Above all, Cathy cherished her family and friends. She was a genuinely kind and caring person who always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone in any way she could. Her devotion to Ramiro was evident in everything she did, and she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and strength to those around her.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Ramiro Azevedo; her brother, Tim Leonardo; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Leonardo; her mother, Juanita Leonardo; and her brother, Tony Leonardo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main Street, Turlock, California 95380.

The Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, California 95324.

The Committal Service will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, 20085 3rd Avenue, Stevinson, California 95374.

Cathy’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration, and her legacy of love will live on through the family and friends she loved so dearly.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
