Edemia Bernardete Bettencourt

Edemia Bernardete Bettencourt, age 93, of Gustine, California passed away at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 29, 2022. Edemia was born September 30,1928 in Beira, São Jorge, Açores to Lora De Sousa Nunes and João Soares Cardoso. Mrs. Bettencourt is survived by her two sons, Julian Bettencourt married to Maria Natalina of Las Vegas, Nevada and Viterbo Bettencourt married to Rose of San Jose, California. Mrs. Bettencourt is also survived by her sisters Isilda Duarte of San Jose, California, Lucy Santos of Gilroy, California and her brother Horacio Soares of Mt. View, California. Mrs. Bettencourt also leaves behind three Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren to honor her memory. Mrs. Bettencourt was preceded in death by her spouse Jose Bettencourt; her father João Soares Cardoso and her mother Lora De Sousa Nunes and her sisters Leonilda Corvelo and Cisaltina Castro. Mrs. Bettencourt was a member of Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church in Gustine, California. A Funeral Service for Mrs. Bettencourt will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church, 371 Linden Ave., Gustine, CA 95322. Following the Funeral Mass, a Committal Service for Mrs. Bettencourt will take place at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California, 95380. Serving as pallbearers are Viterbo Sousa Bettencourt, Jose Antonio Cunha, Francisco Luis Salazar, Joe Sousa, Armando Maciel and Manuel Luciano Sequeira.
