Emilia A Lima

February 14, 1920 - April 4, 2018

On April 4, 2018 Emilia, aged 98, passed peacefully at her home in Merced.

Born in Sao Bento, Terceira, Azores, Emilia spent the last 40 years of her life living in Merced county, and was a long-time member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church of Atwater as well as an avid cook and gardener.

Emilia leaves behind her daughters: Teresa (Henry) Ferreira of Idaho, Nelia (Albert) Barcelos of Atwater, Mary (Manuel) Mendes of Gustine, sons: Felipe (Teresa) Lima of Merced, August Lima of Merced, Joe (Brenda) Lima of Merced, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Emilia was preceded in death by her parents Jose Cardoso and Maria de Jesus Alves, as well as her husband Jose Lima in 2007.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street Turlock, California. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:30 PM on April 16, 2018 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church: 1799 Winton Way Atwater, California.

A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church of Atwater. Immediately following the mass, Emilia will be laid to rest at Hills Ferry Cemetery: 1334 W. Stuhr Road Newman, California.
