Fernando Gomes Martins

Fernando Gomes Martins, age 69, of Modesto, California passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Fernando was born in Ribeira Seca, São Jorge, Açores, Portugal to Maria Angelina Gomes and João Batista Martins.

Fernando is survived by his spouse of 43 years, Lucia Martins of Modesto, his sisters Maria Judete Nunes (Manuel) and Leonia Rocha (Antonio) both of São Jorge, Açores and his brother Antonio Martins (Conceicão) of Newman. Fernando is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Fernando was preceded in death by his father João Batista Martins, his mother Maria Angelina Gomes and his brothers, João Avlino, Manuel, and Diniz Martins.

Fernando was a member of Old St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Modesto.

A Rosary Service and Funeral Mass for Fernando will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Old St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 709 J Street, Modesto,, CA 95354.

Serving as pallbearers are Alfredo Cardoso, João Machado, Mario Martins, Matthew Martins, Dillon Martins and Austin Martins.
