Francisco is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Maria de Fátima Pires of Hilmar; his son Adrian Pires (Liz) of Stevinson; his daughter Connie Lourenco (Joe) of Hilmar; his brother Angelo Pires of Terceira Açores; his sister Paulina Melo of Terceira Açores; his grandchildren Megan Sousa (Jonathon), Eric Lourenco, Andrew Pires and Conner Pires and Great Granddaughter Raelyn Sousa. Francisco is also survived by his sister in law Iracema Pires of Hilmar as well as many nieces and nephews.
Francisco is preceded in death by his parents Francisco Lopes Pires and Mariana de Jesus Mendes; his brothers José Pires and Alexandro Pires; his sisters Maria Bertão, Idalina Costa and Natividade Bertão.
Francisco was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, Casa dos Açores in Hilmar and Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine.
A private family visitation for Francisco will be held at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A rosary service will be held, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, CA 95324. There will be a private committal service at North Hilmar Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Pires, Conner Pires, Eric Lourenco, Jonathon Sousa, Jorge Melo and Humberto De Melo.
