Gilbert Valenzuela, age 57, of Newman, California passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from complications related to COVID-19, which he contracted at the care facility he had been living in for the past few years. Gilbert was born February 15, 1963 in San Jose, CA.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Tony Valenzuela, and his brother, Robert Valenzuela.
Gilbert is survived by his mother, Gloria Valenzuela; 3 brothers, Anthony, David, and Mark Valenzuela; 2 sisters, Rosalie Limas and Gloria Marquez; his children, Andrea, Gilbert, and Michael; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gilbert grew up in Watsonville, California where he attended local schools. He was a generous person with a big heart. He was a hard worker until his stroke in 2013, which left him paralyzed on the left side of his body and he was unable to walk. Even in that state he continued his generous spirit, constantly wanting to help his family and friends.
No services are planned at this time due to COVID-19, but the family plans to have a celebration of life when it is safe to do so.
