Harry Sousa Avila

Harry Sousa Avila was called to rest on October 5, 2014. He was born in Hayward, California, and has lived in Turlock for eleven years. Harry was the family fix-it man and had over twenty years of construction/building experience. When asked could it be fixed, he responded, “Anything can be fixed!” He was the kindest person with a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, affectionately known by the family as a goofball. He was proud of his Portuguese heritage and was known to belt out “Bom dia, Portuguese, Bom dia” on a bright sunny day. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Helena Gabriela Avila and is survived by his father, Valdemar B. Avila; daughter, Marissa Iria Avila; son, Gabriel Sousa Avila; sister and brother-in-law, Lita and Don Ahrens; grandson, Angelo Martinez-Avila; nephews, Joshua Teixeira, Devon Teixeira, and Jason Teixeira; and nieces, Aschlyn Ahrens and Lisa Marie Sanchez.
