Helio Teixeira Bettencourt, age 58, of Escalon, California passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto. Helio was born May 4, 1963 in Toledo, São Jorge, Açores to Maria Albertina Matias and Manuel Teixeira Bettencourt.
Helio is survived by his two daughters Nelia and Lidia Silveira, both of El Nido; his mother Maria Albertina Matias of São Jorge; his brother Julio Armando Teixeira (Judy) of Turlock, his brother Lino Bettencourt (Marie) of Atwater, his brother Albert Teixeira (Lucia) of São Jorge, his brother Natalino Teixeira of São Jorge, his sister Lucinda Lemos (Jose) of São Jorge and his sister Julia Bettencourt (Emanuel) of São Jorge; his two grandsons Joao and Emanuel Oliveira and his granddaughter Lyla Murillo. Helio also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to honor his memory.
Helio was preceded in death by his father Manuel Teixeira Bettencourt and his sister Maria Adelina Bettencourt.
A visitation for Helio will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California.
A recitation of the rosary followed by funeral mass will occur Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A committal service will follow the funeral mass Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
