Born on March 29, 1938 in Governors Island, New York, Janice was a woman whose gentle spirit and radiant smile brightened every room she entered. Her kindness, faith, and warmth were constants in the lives of all who knew her.
As a devoted wife, Janice found her greatest joy in loving and caring for her husband, Donald. They were together for 68 years, and each of them were precious to her. Anyone who knew her knew that her husband was truly the center of her universe.
Though her heart belonged to her husband, her children were her joy. She taught by example, showing her children what it meant to live a life of compassion, faithfulness, and grace.
Janice’s love for her Lord guided every step of her life. She served others with humility and joy, living out her faith in quiet, steadfast ways. Friends and family alike knew her as mild-mannered and kind — a true reflection of Christ’s love.
Those who were blessed to know her will forever remember her gentle presence, her comforting words, and that beautiful smile that earned her the name “Sunshine.” She always had a smile for everyone, no matter the circumstance, and her kindness touched countless lives.
She is survived by her husband Donald W. Bright, her daughters, Paige Parrott (Dan), Kellie Weaver (Todd), Carrie Lowery (Wayne), Erin Cave (Alan), and Riann Bright, and her grandchildren, Jessica Hartson, Michael Hartson, Vandon Weaver, Brooklyn Lowery, and Jack Parrott.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tami Bright, her father Murray Dilley, her mother Eleanor Dilley, her step-father Bertram Legan, and her sisters, Connie Luks and Georgia Turman.
