Joao is survived by his spouse, Celeste de Souza; son Philip de Souza (Melissa) of Denair; son Larry de Souza (Dana) of Las Vegas; son Tony de Souza (Chandra) of Waterford; daughter Jennifer Martins (Michael) of Modesto; and daughter Megan de Souza; brother Jose Ramos Sousa of Hilmar, sister Maria Sousa of Hilmar, sister Carmel Carvalho of Modesto and sister Mariana Reis of Turlock. He had six grandchildren to honor his memory.
He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Turlock, California.
Joao was preceded in death by; his parents; brother Antonio; and sister Comeuicao.
A Visitation for Joao will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California.
A Recitation of the Rosary followed by Funeral Mass will occur at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Road, Turlock, California. Following will be a Committal Service at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Philip de Souza, Larry de Souza, Tony de Souza, Michael Martins, Jose R. Sousa and Blake Dowdy.
