Joao is survived by his wife, Maria Faria; son Frank Faria; and daughter Loretta Faria.
He was alive during World War II as a child and later on in life he served in the Portuguese military.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Maria Faria.
A visitation for Joao will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A recitation of the rosary followed by a funeral mass will occur at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A committal service will follow at N. Hilmar Cemetery, 8710 N. Tegner Road, Hilmar, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Machado, Jose Machado, Antonio Espinola, Carlos Rocha, Antonio Dinis and Joao Costa.
