Joseph Anthony Leonard, 82, of Stevinson, California, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center, going home to the Lord and reuniting with his beloved wife, Lucy, who preceded him in death in May of this year. Born on November 5, 1943, in Los Banos, California, Joseph and Lucy shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around family, love, and countless memories.
Joseph was a devoted family man with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for joking around and giving those he loved a hard time. His playful personality, generosity, and genuine kindness made him someone people truly enjoyed being around. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters and great-grandson.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had a lifelong appreciation for trucks, particularly his beloved big diesel truck. He enjoyed attending car shows and diesel truck shows, participating in parades, and making memories with his family along the way. He was also a member of the PT Cruiser Club, played with the community band, and was involved with the Native Sons and Odd Fellows organizations. Whether he was behind the wheel of his truck or sharing a laugh with family and friends, Joseph knew how to make the most of the moments that mattered.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Anna Leiter (Robert); his sisters, Francis Jean De Nike, Alice Bowers, and Elaine James; his granddaughters, Amanda Freeman and Lucinda Freeman; and his great-grandson, Noah Malagon. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will remember him fondly.
