Judith Marie Stauffer, age 61, of Turlock, California passed away at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California on Saturday, March 4th, 2023. Judith was born in San Francisco to Barbara and Manuel Fernandes.
Judith was raised in Dublin, California. She graduated from Dublin High School and continued her schooling at Heald Business College in Hayward, California. Judith graduated early and went to work for Kaiser Engineers Power Division in Oakland, California.
Judith married Scott Stauffer in 1982 and was diagnosed with Lupus Erythematosus in 1985. Judith faced many health challenges throughout the years because of this diagnosis but it did not stop her from fulfilling her dream of being a mother. After four stillborns and a miscarriage, Judith and Scott welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, in 1987. Judith went on to raise Jennifer in Dublin, where she was an active member of her community. Enrolling Jennifer in various community teams and events, Judith was also a volunteer at Valley Care Health Center in Pleasanton, California.
Prior to her diagnosis, Judy enjoyed many different outdoor activities. She often spent weekends with Scott and her friends camping, boating and skiing. She enjoyed crafting, such as needlepointing, stained glass and even made thousands of hair bows that were sold and distributed by Mervyn’s and other department stores. Judy had a love for animals and was a member of the GSPCA, housing many foster dogs throughout the years and helping them find their forever families.
Judy was known for her infectious laugh and a love for Disney. She cherished trips to Disneyland with her family and friends.
Judith is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Jennifer Stauffer (Anthony Crosby) of Gaffney, South Carolina. Her Brother, William Fernandes (Denise) of Dublin, California. Her sister, Gabriella Hurtado (Raymond) of Sonora, California. Judith also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Shelley Nelson (Daniel), Michael Fernandes (Lilia), Ryan Milligan (Ann) and Gino Hurtado to honor her memory.
