There will be a rosary at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at 7:00 PM. Visitation is prior, from 2:00 -7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
Julia was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, USSR to Malham and Marazi David on December 5th, 1926. She was educated in Kharkov until her family immigrated to the United States in 1937 arriving on the Queen Mary. She attended Lakeview High School in Chicago. For 53 years she was married to Joash Paul of Keyes and Turlock, California until his death in 2000. She graduated from Cal State University Stanislaus in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and Vocal.
While raising seven children, she owned and managed Paul’s Motel in Turlock with her husband Joash, and was also busy with many community projects. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Young Ladies Institute, past Education Chair of the Assyrian American National Federation, past vice-president of the United Nations Association of Stanislaus County, past director of the Community Concert Association of Turlock, Entertainment chairperson of the Turlock High School Restoration Committee, past director of the Democratic Women’s Club of Turlock, founder and past director of United for Life of Stanislaus County, appointed to the Stanislaus County Arts Commission from 1982 to 1986, and still found time to compose music and sing in local chorale and theater productions.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband Joash, her parents, Malham and Marazi David, her son Timothy Paul, her sister Elizabeth Oshana and godmother Feodorovna.
Julia is survived by her children, Joyce Greer (Earl), Joan Eshoo (Andy), Dean Paul, Therese Paul, David Paul and Julie, Bernadette Paul and Loyd, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
