

Mr. Leroy Muniz, age 74 “Entered into Rest” on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Riverbank Nursing Center and he was born in Penasco, New Mexico. Mr. Muniz was a resident of Oakdale, lived in Stanislaus County for 43 years and was a Park Ranger and Maintenance for Woodward Resevoir in Oakdale for 28 years. He loved the outdoors, woodworking, horseshoes, dancing and spending time with family. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years. Mr. Muniz is survived by: his Mother Arabella Muniz of Denver, Colorado; 5 Daughters – Mary Perez of Delhi, Nina Cardiel (Manuel) of Turlock, Jenny Duran (Juan) of Merced, Angie Alejandre of Delhi and Linda Carrillo of Delhi; Step-Daughter April Lester (Loren) of Oakdale; Step-Son Albert Espinosa of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 Brothers – Tony Muniz, Jr. of Merced and Steve Muniz of Denver, Colorado; 3 Sisters – Josie Muniz of Merced, Regina Buenconsejo (Lino) of Lakewood, Colorado and Isabella Lovato of Denver, Colorado; 25 Grandchildren and 37 Great Grandchildren.
The Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2 – 8 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock. Interment will be private.
