Lois Darlene Gomes was born June 20, 1924 in Crescent City, California to Carlos J. Bronco and Mariana Bettencourt. She was full of life and loved dancing, she also had a green thumb and loved gardening. Lois was a seamstress. Not only was she good at sewing, she once used bubble wrap to make a pattern a few months prior to her passing. Above all, she loved her family and it showed in everything that she made, and what she taught for her family.
She passed away at the age of 95 in Modesto, California on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
Lois is survived by her son Shannon Gomes of Iowa and her daughters, Carla Warkentin of Jamestown and Norma Pollard of Washington. She had three grandchildren: Stacey Porcaro of Modesto, Clayton Porcaro of Oklahoma, and Jennie Campbell of Laffayette. Lois also had seven great grandchildren to honor her memory: Kristine Porcaro, Brayden Ford, Dylan Ford, Mia Campbell, Lilly Campbell, Blake Porcaro, and Porter Porcaro.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman F. Gomes.
A reception for Lois will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California 95326.
