Madalena Da Gloria Borges, age 90, of Hilmar, California passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born September 30, 1927 in Biscoitos, São Jorge, Açores to parents Maria Clementina da Silva and Carlos Machado.
Madalena is survived by; son João Borges (Teresa) of Tracy; son Antero D Borges (Eulalia) of Atwater; son Fernando Borges (Manuela) of Turlock; son Liborio Borges (Dina) of Hilmar; daughter Maria F Drumond of Modesto; daughter Maria Madalena Freitas (José Alberto) of Cinco Ribeiras, Terceira, Açores; daughter Maria Borges of Hilmar; daughter-in-law Ermezinda Borges; brother Feliciano Dores of Stevinson; brother Carlos Machado of Missouri; brother Maximino Machado of Idaho; sister Maura Almada of Hilmar; sister Margarida Leavitt of Roseville and sister Arlete Alves of Eureka. Mrs. Borges also leaves behind nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren to honor her memory.
Madalena was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years José Inacio Borges, her son José L Borges, and her parents Maria Clementina da Silva and Carlos Machado.
A visitation for Mrs. Madalena Borges will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. Following the visitation there will be a recitation of the rosary at 8:00 PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A funeral mass will occur at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California. She will be laid to rest immediately following the mass at Turlock Memorial Park: 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Liborio Borges, João Borges, Antero Borges, Fernando Borges, Carlos Borges, Anthony Borges, Joe Drumond and Jason Borges.
