Maria Arminda Azevedo, age 83, of Albany, Oregon passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Albany General Hospital in Albany Oregon. She was born March 31, 1938 in Fajã dos Bodes, São Jorge, Açores to Olinda Leonor de Sousa and Jose Joaquim de Sousa Jr.
Maria is survived by: her daughter Maria Idalina Cox of Albany,Oregon; her sister Cecilia Silveira of Half Moon Bay, California; and her brother Manuel Sousa of Stockton, California; her granddaughter Sereena Marie Smith of Albany, Oregon; and her godson Carlos Manuel Azevedo also of Albany, Oregon. Maria Arminda Azevedo also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to honor her memory.
Maria was preceded in death by: her husband Manuel Filomeno Azevedo; her father Jose Joaquim de Sousa Jr. and her mother Olinda Leonor de Sousa; her brother Jose Joaquim Sousa; and her sisters Clementina Borba, Maria Cardoso, Laurinda da Sousa, Rosa Cardosa.
A Visitation for Maria will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, California.
A Recitation of the Rosary will occur at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main Street, Turlock, California 95380.
A Funeral Mass will occur at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California.
A Committal Service will follow at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
Serving as pallbearers are: Angelo Cardoso, Anibal Cardoso, Michael Cardoso, Arlindo Cardoso, Antonio Borba and Adam Cardoso.
